Rain Delay Soaks Range Riders in Series Finale

Great Falls, MT. – The Glacier Range Riders (7-10) led the game with the Great Falls Voyagers (13-5) before a 30-minute rain delay flipped the script enough for the Range Riders to end up on the losing side of a 5-4 decision at Centene Stadium.

It was Great Falls who scored first, putting a lone run across in the bottom of the first inning to go up 1-0. Glacier, however, had their big inning in the top of the third when four different Range Riders came across the plate. First, an RBI single by both Ben McConnell and Gabe Howell made it 2-1, before Livingston Morris ripped his second home run of the year over the left field fence to make it 4-1.

Great Falls wedged their way back with a run in both the bottom of the third and the fifth. In the bottom of the sixth, Great Falls put a runner on the third and second with a steady rain going, before the umpires decided to halt gameplay because of the weather. When play got back underway, the Voyagers immediately got those two runs across in what would prove to be the difference in the contest. Andrew Stout started the game strongly, allowed just one earned run in four innings with four strikeouts, while Tanner Solomon pitched the final three innings scoreless.

This marks the final contest of the 17-game road trip for the Range Riders. They'll play host to the Billings Mustangs (7-6) on Tuesday, June 14, which will mark the first ever game at Flathead Field.
